Sheldon L. Watts is a seasoned professional with more than 27 years of experience in the global corporate telecommunications and technology sector. Over the course of his career, he has excelled in roles ranging from technical documentation and senior-level business operations to global compliance and data privacy security management. His ability to adapt and lead across diverse functions demonstrates a deep understanding of complex business environments.

Sheldon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and an MBA from Roosevelt University, and through his doctoral work in Organizational Leadership, he has bridged theory and practice to enhance organizational effectiveness and leadership development.

Public Service & Civic Engagement

Beyond his corporate career, Sheldon has built a strong record of public service and civic leadership. As a former Trustee for the Village of Bolingbrook, he contributed significantly through his work on the Finance Committee and as Chair of the Public Services and Public Safety Committee. His service also includes roles as a Zoning Board of Appeals Commissioner for the Village of Bolingbrook and Trustee for DuPage Township.

Today, Sheldon continues his commitment to public service as Chairman of the Will County Center for Community Concerns Board of Directors, helping guide initiatives that strengthen community development and civic engagement across the county.

Community Impact & Entrepreneurship

Sheldon’s passion for community building extends to nonprofit leadership and entrepreneurial initiatives. He is the founder and president of the Bolingbrook STEM Association, a nonprofit dedicated to introducing students to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs. He also founded the Alliance for Civic Engagement (ACE) to encourage civic involvement and community participation. In 2018, Sheldon launched the “Brunch in the Brook” Minority Business Networking Forum, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and growth for small businesses and underrepresented entrepreneurs. Whether mentoring students, guiding community members, or facilitating initiatives, Sheldon remains committed to empowering others and fostering lasting, positive change.
